Currently, the skate park is unsupervised, but users are required to adhere to posted rules that include wearing protective gear.  Anyone wishing to donate toward the new permanent facility for future amenities or who is seeking more information should contact the Ojai Recreation Dept at 805-646-5581, x390.

History of the Park

The Ojai Skate Park opened in February 2000 as a temporary skate park to provide Ojai Valley skateboarders a safe, but challenging place to have fun and practice their skills.  The Skate Park was comprised of 7,300 sq. ft. of wood and Skatelite (a wood plastic composite).  An agreement between the City and the Ojai Unified School District allowed a permanent inground concrete skateboard park to be constructed and expanded to 12,500 sq. ft. on school district property leased by the City.  The City’s Skate Park is on Ojai Ave. next to Chaparral High School.
